Extremely Disappointed

We received the Kitchen Aid stand mixer as a wedding gift in 2017. The day before Mother's Day of 2019, while mixing softened butter, eggs, and sugar, the paddle stopped spinning and the motor began making a strange whirring sound. I turned the mixer off. Turned it back on. And nothing happened at all – the mixer died. I contacted KitchenAid live chat where they explained the only thing they could do would be send me information as to where to get it fixed. Option 1: Take it to Brooklyn (Not happening as I live in New Jersey). Option 2: Pay for packaging to send to KitchenAid where they try to fix it and give me all these surcharges that could range up to $200. At that price, I tell them I can buy another. And for the money that was put into it already to buy it for us, that is a waste of money. I am told to call where they can look into providing discounts. Called and was told the same thing and that because it is beyond the two year mark, there is nothing they can do. I can understand if within the two years I "accidentally" dropped it out a second story window – but over two years I can count on two hands the times that I have used it. There is no excuse for it to stop working like it did. I am completely disheartened with KitchenAid for their subpar product and lack of concern for the fact that they are losing a customer. The last stand mixer I had growing up has been at my parents' for ten years and is STILL WORKING! And I used that way more times than this product. Completely disappointed – will NOT be getting another stand mixer – nor would I recommend it to anyone!
